Ponderings
(December 2007) -
“BELIEF”
According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary …
Belief
is “a
state or habit of mind in which trust or confidence is placed in some person or
thing; something believed; conviction of the truth of some statement or the
reality of some being or phenomenon especially when based on examination of
evidence”
Sharing my thoughts …
Another year is over and as I look back at
2007 I’m aware of new beliefs I’ve formed and old beliefs that I hold onto.
Some beliefs have served me well, such as living “green”, as much as possible,
and eating organic foods. Other beliefs have outlived their usefulness, such as
believing that I can’t market my services. Of course, even though I know from a
logical standpoint that self-limiting beliefs need to go, releasing them from
their tight grip is not always easy. (Gee! Another self-limiting
belief!)So as I head into 2008, I intend to observe my beliefs and build on
those that are empowering and learn to release those that no longer serve me.
What beliefs do you hold?
Questions to ponder …
-
What
beliefs limit you?
-
What
beliefs empower you?
-
What do you
believe is your biggest potential for 2008?
-
What
self-limiting beliefs would you like to release in 2008?
-
What do you
believe is your unique contribution; your life path?
-
How can you
question and transform beliefs that no longer serve you?
-
What do
others believe about you that you don’t believe about yourself?
-
What
beliefs have you held since childhood? How do they serve you now?
-
Think of 5
things you believe without question. Do they drain or energize you?
-
What
beliefs keep you from pursuing your dreams; from realizing your potential?

Men often become what they believe themselves to be. If I believe I cannot do
