Sharing my thoughts …

It has usually been challenging for me to stay in the present, until now.  Since March, when I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, I’m living in the present much easier.  Of course I don’t recommend this path to staying in the present, though it is one of the gifts I’ve received from cancer.  There are other easier situations that help me stay in the now, such as working with clients, practicing yoga, bodywork (massage, Reiki and acupuncture), spending quality time with family and friends, and relaxing vacations.  Staying in the now, getting the most out of each day, experiencing life as it is unfolding is a settling, fulfilling and joyful experience.

Questions to ponder …

  1. How can you help yourself stay in the present?
  2. What situations help you to stay in the present?
  3. What keeps you from living in the present moment?
  4. Where do you focus most – the past, present or future?
  5. How do you feel when you stay in the present moment?
  6. How do you feel when you focus on the past to the exclusion of the present?
  7. How do you feel when you focus on the future to the exclusion of the present?
  8. How are you feeling physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually at this moment?
