Sharing my thoughts …

I used to believe I was in control; but, the events of this year have shattered that illusion.  The only thing I have control over is my thoughts and emotions; my response to the situation.  If I allow my emotions and thoughts to run rampant they end up controlling me and I become more stressed with a weakened ability to think clearly.  However, if I observe my thoughts and emotions without judgment, giving them room to breathe, then I can let them go.  They no longer control me and I gain clarity of thought enabling me to choose a healthier response.  This is not always easy; but, I’ve found that when I go through this process I experience a sense of calm and acceptance regarding the situation which empowers me to choose an appropriate course of action.

How do you handle loss of control?
