balance; mental and emotional steadiness
Sharing my thoughts
Nature seeks balance and yet is seldom in perfect alignment. Just like a
pendulum, it swings off center and then back to center in a continual motion of
small adjustments. As long as correcting adjustments are happening nature stays
in equilibrium. However, when the swing off center is too extreme or stays off
center for a length of time negative consequences occur; waters are polluted,
species go extinct, etc. Our lives are similar; keeping balance requires an
awareness of when we go off-kilter and making adjustments to rebalance.
Problems arise when we ignore the signs of imbalance and continue in our out of
balance state. We can experience poor health, strained relationships, an
unsatisfying career, etc. Fortunately, nature is often forgiving and will allow
us another chance to rebalance. We can use these opportunities to increase our
awareness and skills of rebalancing so that we are better equipped to adjust the
next time we experience an imbalance in our lives.
